Corn and sweet corn processing

IQF sweet corn kernels, canned corn, corn flour, grits, flakes

Corn and sweet corn processing line by GEM Foodtech, Kolkata, India — capacity 1 to 20 tonnes per hour, final yield 31% of raw intake, delivered as a turnkey plant with installation and commissioning worldwide.

Raw material
Sweet corn cobs or dent corn
Capacity range

Operating pattern
Seasonal for sweet corn, year round for dry corn

The commercial reality

Sweet corn runs on the same clock as peas — sugars fall away within hours of harvest. Dry corn is a different business entirely, built around milling and drying. This line covers both because most plants that start with one add the other.

Questions we get on this line

IQF or canned?

IQF holds a better texture and sells higher, but needs a cold chain. Canning is more forgiving in distribution. Many plants run both from a shared front end.

What is the kernel yield?

About 30 to 35% of cob weight. The remaining two thirds is why by-product handling belongs in the design from the start.

What capacity range does the corn line cover?

Standard GEM Foodtech builds cover 1 to 20 tonnes per hour. Larger duties are engineered to order — the right size is set by the raw material supply through the season, not the nameplate figure.

Is this supplied as a complete turnkey plant?

Yes. The Corn and sweet corn processing line is delivered end to end — feasibility, pilot trial on your own material, engineering, manufacture in Kolkata, installation, commissioning and operator training — or as individual machines to fit an existing plant.
