Selected equipment installations in Asia and the United States, including continuous ovens, cranberry pomace drying and coconut processing lines.
Supplied a PLC- and HMI-controlled continuous oven with integrated CIP for producing caramel, cinnamon and cheddar-flavoured rice cakes. The system replaced an older, labour-intensive oven and enabled faster product changeovers, automated recipe control and improved hygiene.
Integrated CIP, adjustable temperature zones and controlled residence time reduced cleaning downtime while improving product consistency and production flexibility.
Supplied a steam-based continuous band dryer for high-moisture cranberry pomace, replacing three separate dryers with one integrated system. The solution simplified operations, reduced maintenance and energy requirements, and delivered consistent moisture suitable for milling into functional powders and fibre ingredients.
A single continuous drying line delivered higher throughput, consistent product quality and improved process efficiency.
Delivered a complete high-fat desiccated coconut processing line — from raw coconut receiving and preparation to blanching, drying support, grading and final packing. The food-grade SS 304 system was engineered for continuous industrial production with reduced manual handling and consistent product quality.
Successfully installed and commissioned in April 2019, with operation formally certified to the client's satisfaction.
Project details, performance figures and outcomes are published in every language on this page. Client and brand names remain unchanged.
Practical answers on food factory requirements, SONCAP imports and project documentation. These are planning guidelines, not certification or legal advice.
NAFDAC regulates food safety and relevant food facility/product registration; the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) administers standards and the SONCAP scheme for applicable imports. Requirements depend on the product and shipment.
Many food manufacturing operations and food products require NAFDAC review, inspection or registration, as applicable. The Nigerian operator should confirm facility and product-specific obligations before production or sale.
NAFDAC's 2025 food GMP and Food Hygiene Regulations cover hygienic facilities, equipment, cleaning, personnel, water, process controls and food safety management. Layout and equipment selections should be reviewed against requirements applicable to the operation.
Not necessarily. SON states that eligible bona fide manufacturers importing industrial machinery may apply for a SONCAP Import Permit rather than follow normal offshore certification. Other equipment may fall under SONCAP. Confirm classification with SON and the Nigerian importer before shipment.
Depending on classification, documents may include a commercial invoice, packing list, shipping documents, applicable SONCAP Product/SONCAP Certificate or import permit, and Nigerian customs or trade documentation. The importer and clearing agent should confirm the exact list.
Not as a blanket rule for every plant. Food safety controls, including HACCP-based approaches where applicable, may be required by regulation, buyers or export markets. ISO 22000 certification is a separate third-party certification; its necessity depends on the customer and market.
GEM Foodtech can discuss engineering specifications and available technical documentation for a proposed project. Nigerian regulatory approval, SONCAP status and any certification must be verified for the specific machine and shipment; this page does not claim blanket Nigerian certification.
Our engineering team can review food-contact materials, cleanability, process flow, utility needs and documentation during project design. Final site approvals, registrations and import clearances remain the responsibility of the Nigerian project owner and relevant authorities.
