Home / How we deliver
From raw material to running plant
Six stages. The first two happen before you commit any capital, and you keep the output of both regardless of what you decide.
Feasibility
We start with your raw material, your market and your capex ceiling — not with a machine list. Output is a yield model, a capacity recommendation and an indicative budget.
Pilot trial
Send the material. We run it at the Kolkata pilot facility and measure the real drying curve, yield and quality before either of us commits to numbers.
Engineering
Process flow diagram, mass and energy balance, equipment sizing, plant layout, utility schedule and P&ID. You get the drawings whether or not you buy the plant.
Manufacture
Built in our own facility. Food-contact parts in SS 304 or 316, welds finished and documented, factory acceptance test before despatch.
Installation
Erection supervision or full turnkey installation, commissioning, and operator training on your material with your people.
After sales
Spares held against the installed base, annual maintenance contracts, and process support when you change product or scale up.
What the engineering package contains
- Process flow diagram and process description
- Mass and energy balance across every stage
- Equipment list with sizes, materials and motor ratings
- Plant layout with clean and dirty zone separation
- Utility schedule: steam, power, water, chilled water, air, effluent
- P&ID for the thermal and CIP sections
- Operating manual and cleaning procedure
What we need from you
- Raw material and its variability through the season
- Products you intend to sell and to which specification
- Target capacity and the operating pattern you can staff
- Available utilities and the site envelope
- Local regulatory and export certification requirements
If you are at the idea stage and have none of this yet, start with the pilot trial. Twenty kilograms of material answers more questions than a month of meetings.
Common questions
Do you supply single machines or complete turnkey plants?
Both. GEM Foodtech builds individual machines — washers, blanchers, dryers, pulpers, fryers, IQF tunnels — in its own Kolkata facility, and delivers complete turnkey lines from feasibility and pilot trial through installation, commissioning and operator training.
Which countries do you supply and install in?
More than 112 installations across India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, the United States, Africa and Latin America, with on-site commissioning and operator training included.
How do I get a price for a food processing line?
Send the raw material, target products and capacity through the enquiry form. You get a process flow diagram, an equipment schedule and a budget number, usually within a week.
Can you test my raw material before I commit?
Yes. Send about 20 kg of material to the Kolkata pilot facility. We run it, measure the real yield, drying curve and quality, and send you the data whether or not you buy the plant.
Who is behind GEM Foodtech?
GEM Foodtech is the food processing division of Gem Drytech Systems LLP, Kolkata — an Indian engineering company manufacturing drying and food processing equipment since 1998. Industrial drying systems are at gemdrytech.com.
Send us a sample.
We will process it at the Kolkata pilot facility and give you real yield and quality data on your own material.
